Puerto Rican Political Prisoner Oscar Lopez Rivera transferred to 
medium security prison

After 27 years in maximum and super-maximum security prisons, today, 
February 13, 2008, Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar Lopez Rivera 
was moved to a medium security prison. While he is still being 
singled out for special, more onerous treatment, including being 
required to report to prison staff every two hours, this is the first 
time in almost three decades that he is in a medium security prison. 
Buoyed by the warm send-off from his fellow prisoners at the USP 
(maximum), and by the warm welcome from those at the FCI (medium), he 
will adjust to his new surroundings. More news about the transfer to follow.
