Dear Mumia Supporters,
This Sunday's event - Honoring Mumia Abu-Jamal & His Friends ~
Fighters for Freedom - will be a great opportunity to hear several
incredible and courageous speakers, including Dennis Bernstein of
KPFA's Flashpoints, Attorney Lynne Stewart who will give an update on
her court hearing which took place in New York on Monday, and
activities and leaders from many social justice organizations who
will describe the impact that Mumia has had on their struggles. Also
learn about the new forensic evidence showing Mumia's innocence, the
coverage of his case on The Today Show and hear about the film
showing of "In Jail All My Life" at Sundance. The event is a fund
raiser, $15-$10, sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds
and light refreshments will be served.
The event will take place this Sunday, February 3rd from 2pm to 4pm
at the ILWU Local 34 Hall, 4 Berry Street in San Francisco. The Hall
is located just to the left (East) of AT&T (Giants) Baseball Stadium,
near 2nd and King Streets. The Hall has ample free parking, and
there are several methods to get there by public transportation,
including: Muni Metro N Judah and the new T Sunnydale/Third Street
lines go directly to AT&T Park (King Muni Metro station), as well as
Muni Bus Lines 15, 30, 45 and 47. From the South Bay take Caltrain
to the 4th and King Street Station, from the East Bay go to BART
Embarcadero or Montgomery Street Stations to pick up the N Line or
