A request from Lynne Stewart

Dear Friends of Lynne Stewart,

We are fast approaching the oral argument on the appeal of my
conviction and the government's appeal of my sentence. December 18th
at 2 p.m. I hope that I will see a lot of you there. It is believed
although not certain that the argument will take place in the
ceremonial courtroom at 500 Pearl Street, New York, NY.

We had a nice turn out at the benefit for the Lynne Stewart Defense
Committee : Marx in Soho, at St. Marks Church on the Bowery. I
didn't see a lot of you there but I know we are all pulled in many
directions personally and politically.

I remain free pending the outcome of the appeal, but have not been
in a position to get a paying job. The defense committee continues
to function but we won't have much of a defense committee if we don't
raise some funds. We are unable to do a mass mailing or a newsletter
because the cost is prohibitive. We will send out email updates and
a report from the oral argument and of course we will post the
transcripts of the proceeding when available on our website.

In closing I wish all of you happy holidays, and look forward to a
new year of fighting the good fight along side you. Whatever you can
donate would be used to continue that fight and to help keep me in it!
