The last remaining defendant with charges pending in the San
Francisco 8 case, Francisco Torres, joined a large and vocal crowd in
front of the San Francisco courthouse and jail this Monday morning.

A courtroom packed with SF 8 supporters witnessed a brief appearance
before Judge Moscone who scheduled a discovery and motions hearing
for October 9th at 9:00 a.m. Francisco's legal team led by Chuck
Bourdon must now take on the weight of preparing for a preliminary
hearing that had once included a team of 16 attorneys.

Much like yesterday's community event "In the Spirit of Black August
- Stand with the SF 8" supporters continue to demand that all charges
be dropped against Francisco Torres and also ask that people organize
to support upcoming parole hearings in New York for Herman Bell and
Jalil Muntaqim.
